Local opticians puts young artists in the frame

Youngsters visiting a Clifton opticians are invited to get creative this August by taking part in a colouring competition. Open to children up to the age of 13, the contest offers a chance to win fun prizes and showcase their artistic skills.

Kids can collect a colouring sheet from Specsavers in Clifton during their appointment and parents are invited to drop off completed entries before the deadline, which is Monday 1 September. Two winners will be selected, one from each age category: 1-6 and 7-13 years. Prizes include a Crayola colouring set for younger entrants and a Artworx art set for the older artists.

The team at Specsavers in Clifton, which is locally owned and run, are excited to welcome youngsters into the store. ‘We’re always keen to connect and engage with our fantastic local community, and what better time that the summer holidays,’ comments Specsavers Clifton store director, Chris Child. ‘With families taking a break from their usual school routines, this is the perfect opportunity to give kids something exciting to take part in during their visit.

‘We’re really excited to see all of the wonderful entries from our  young customers,’ continues Chris. ‘The summer holidays are a great time to get involved in something creative, and we always encourage families to book an eye test for their children, especially before they start full-time education. Good vision is key to a happy and fulfilling school life, and with NHS-funded eye tests available for children up to the age of 16, it’s a simple step that can make a big difference.’

The activity is part of the store’s ongoing commitment to making eye care fun and accessible for families – particularly as part of raising awareness around children's eye health and the importance of regular eye checks from a young age.
